Saturday, June 4, 2016 - Nose of tropical fruit, lemon meringue, butterscotch and crushed rock. Classic Hawk Hill on on the nose. On the palate this is pure California with big flavors of butterscotch, papaya, mango, lemon and ends with a nice mineral and buttered popcorn note that extends through the 30-35 second finish. Previous taster mentioned this is on it's last legs but they either had a bad bottle or do not like this style of wine. The Hawk Hill bottling was always the biggest of their Chardonnay's although it's still not nearly as big as say a Dumol or Aubert. Shame they don't make it anymore because it was always my favorite.
