89 Points

Saturday, December 26, 2020 - Medium garnet. Clean nose, dark cherry, smoke, barnyard. Developing. Dry, high acidity, just about balanced by the fruit, fine medium tannins, medium body and alcohol, med+ finish. I’m really struggling to understand the 98 point score from Decanter (Bob Campbell) a few years ago. It’s clearly well made, quite elegant and restrained, but it’s not at that level and I’m struggling to find the purity of fruit. I don’t see this improving but I’ll give my second bottle a couple of years and try again then.
