Friday, December 28, 2012 - Wow! I expected this to be outstanding, and it delivered the goods. Shows a very earthy Tuscan nose of ripe fruit, leather and spice. Not even a hint of funk. Medium-to-full-bodied and absolutely bursting with semi-sweet cherry and pomegranate flavor. There's excellent depth and intensity to the mid-palate. The long, mineral-tinged finish is drenched with ripe, sweet fruit. Not a big wine, but lots going on here with incredible balance and finesse. So polished and beautiful. A magnificent '97 Sangiovese.
