Saturday, December 24, 2016 - Appearance: Bright and clear, it has deep ruby color, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry and dark cherries, herbal notes of green bell pepper, pungent spice of licorice, sweet spice of nutmeg, oak notes of cedar, kernel notes of dark chocolate. The wine is youthful.
Palate: Dry with medium (+) acidity, the wine has high tannin of ripe and velvety texture, medium (+) alcohol, medium (+) body and medium (+) intensity flavors of black fruit of blackberry and plum, oak notes of cedar, kernel notes of chocolate, pungent spice of licorice. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Good quality Australian Cabernet Sauvignon with a reasonably intense nose, a bit simple on the aromas however. The wine has good acidity and freshness, with a robust structure and in balance, showing fairly good concentration though quite simple on palate. With a decent length on the finish, it is ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 2-3 years.
