Wednesday, March 27, 2024 - Tasted six times earlier, first in 2013, the last time a year ago. At home, with Miso Sea Bass, roasted fennel and wilted spinach salad. Still garnet and opaque, with minimal brown edges. Immediate pronounced nose of sweet American oak, vanilla, with a touch of raspberries, some plums and black cherry. The flavors are still full-bodied, still good fruit, excellent balance, but very round. I don't agree with Parker notes that it's too old, but it's probably nearing the end of its plateau after 25 years. Two more bottles, which I'll consume over the next year before drinking more of my 1998s and 2001s.
