Sunday, January 28, 2024 - Hand carried back from Italy. Stood up for months, decanted off 2oz fine sediment, and received 2 hours air. Light ruby-garnet, consistent with nebbiolo at this age; aromatic, red cherry, wild strawberry, slightly herbal; palate is light bodied, red fruited, slight tamari, high tannin but very drinkable, high acidity; finish is medium-plus. This is elegant, well balanced, a joy to drink, and evolving positively with air, which is all a huge accomplishment in 2011. Lacking only a bit of the crazy complexity of the Cappellano 2011, but still hugely enjoyable in its own right. My only bottle, and this feels like the right time to drink it. 94
