Friday, October 6, 2006 - Tasted in double-blind fashion at Vintage Wines, Ltd., with the bottle being brought by Ken Johnson. Ken stated that he had bought the wine upon release and cellared it himself. As has been the case with other wines from Ken's cellar, this wine appears significantly older than one would expect at this point. Specifically, the fruit is lacking and the tannins have all but melted away. I guessed the wine to be a 1976 left bank Bordeaux, as it was completely lacking the "stuffing" that a well-cellared '88 (especially Lynch Bages) should be showing at this point.
