Saturday, March 4, 2017 - Tasted together with the 05 and 03. I just love mature Bordeaux like this. Interestingly so does the market given the auction price is the same as the 2005! Pristine ex-chateau bottle, mid-ruby with a touch of separation, very approachable on the nose, tobacco (although with a touch of green freshness to it in a good way!) and cassis. Fully mature and delicious. The freshness of the 88 vintage keeps everything in check and in balance. Not a blockbuster and not your uber-ripe Californian style hot Bordeaux year, just pure elegance and enjoyment. Easyt to drink the entire bottle. I have been buying a lot of this whenever I can find it and it provides. Great QPR and a classic Bordeaux drinking experience. Loving the top 88s right now!
