1977 Dow Porto Vintage

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Saturday, January 21, 2017 - Fully mature, light>medium bodied, with plenty of EtOH rendering this a bit unbalanced. Translucent ruby, well-bricked. No primary notes remain, this is at peak, perhaps even slightly past (this bottle, anyway). Decanted for sediment on Thursday and allowed to breathe in decanter for 5 hours, this was returned to bottle and served on Saturday, non-blind. This bottle was a reminder that Port wines have become a little out of my (alcohol tolerance) league. That said, it was tasty, in a mature, fine way; a moderate glass is plenty (if only I'd followed my own advice. Sigh). Drink now.

Loads of sediment. Loads. Cork and fill in vg cond, held since release.
