Monday, July 7, 2014 - Popped and poured from 375. Stunning, vibrant purplish-red color. Reserved nose of primary red fruit with a touch of spice. Compact flavor expression on the palate. Plenty of fruit, but likely closed down a bit at the moment. Showed some mineral after being open a few hours. Silky smooth texture and a nice touch of acid gives it absolutely perfect balance. Slightly tannic on the finish. This is in need of many years in the cellar, but should be absolutely thrilling with sufficient bottle age.
