Wednesday, June 12, 2019 - Five winos excellent adventure , mostly in Burgundy; 6/7/2019-6/15/2019 (Beaune, France): From Barrel, I wrote “If you can smell silk, this is it.” and my impression remains identical. Incredibly refined yet hedonistic nose displaying pure sweet black fruit, blackberry liqueur, fresh blackberry, black cherry, a hint of licorice, dark milk chocolate, rose, a hint of Vosne spice, spicy spices and crushed rocks. Perfectly harmonious palate, very finely layered pure black fruit, silky and fluid, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long pure black fruit driven finish with a hint of licorice at the end. Drinking beautifully.
