Wednesday, December 9, 2015 - Clear, deep intensity, ruby color.

Developing nose with a medium intensity. Started off rather tight but opened up slowly and had came together real nice at the end of the evening. Aromas of sour cherry, dried strawberry, prune, dried herbs, gravel dust, spice box, dried flowers and cold coffee.

Bone dry on the palate with a medium acidity, medium(+) body and medium(+), chewy, tannins. Lots of sour cherry, cranberry, pine tree, leather, oak and gravel dust. Medium(+) intensity a finish.

Those sour cherry and dusty components got me way off on this wine right from the start. After the bottle was revealed and the wine given some air I found more and more Bdx-markers. However, the wine is quite good but a bit austere on the palate. Drinking fine with some decanting and will certainly keep for another 5 years in a cellar. 2003 seems to be a weird vintage...
