Friday, September 30, 2016 - When first opened, dominant flavor was very dark fruits and earthy notes. With a couple of hours in the decanter and with food, the taste profile evolved in a nice way. Black currants, black berries were still there, forest floor, with some interesting spices, and a finish that had, according to my wife, hints of maple syrup -- I would say a hint of caramel. In any event, a very nice wine, just at its peak.
