Friday, February 23, 2018 - Last tasted 6 months ago, the wine is moving forward at a glacial pace. In many ways it is very untypical for a left bank of the vintage with none of the opulence and richness of many of its contemporaries. It is drinking and very enjoyable, but possesses the typical austerity of the vineyard with crunchy old fashioned tannin. It seems whatever the year (even the 2003), you can't take the "sociando mallet" out of the wine and it is a testament to its character and identity. This will continue to improve but will always retain its essential profile.
