91 Points

Sunday, January 18, 2009 - Intense dark berries on the nose. The palate is ripe yet well-structured, and this is a sleeker, less jammy wine than I tasted in mid-2006. Secondary flavors of ash/smoke and coffee. Some new oak in evidence, which grew more pronounced after an hour or so in the glass. Very good acidity. Ripe tannins on the finish. Approachable with some air, this has the stuffing to go many more years.
