Friday, May 1, 2015 - A really complete mouth full of Napa Valley style ripe red and dark fruit with plenty of enhancing secondary flavors. The nose has some cedar, menthol and smoke with intense blackberry and black cherry. Dark but not overly opaque color. Nice concentration and mouth coating viscosity on the palate. Rich, brambly, black cherry, blackberry, plum and cassis fruit from lips to finish. Lots of just now integrating medium heavy toast oak leaves the impression of cocoa and vanilla. Serious but civilized tannins. My only disappointment was how much the structure seemed to diminish and dissipate after sitting overnight.
