Monday, February 6, 2017 - I was fortunate to have a good friend share this with me on a special occasion - i've never tasted a wine with such ripeness, complexity and persistence, and as some have suggested it doesn't come off heavy.
The 2003 Cuvee Cathelin had a smorgasbord of flavors and aromas that were constantly changing and emerging with a base line of plum/raisin, truffles, tar, sous bois, and clove. And then these powerful flavors occasionally gave way to a brigher side with raspberry and game. It is very impressive and in a sense overwhelming to taste, and still very primary so I think will have a very long life ahead. I hope I'm lucky enough to taste it again
