Sunday, September 27, 2020 - Sunday hangout (socially distanced) (Chicago, IL): A brilliant wine in what I consider one of the best vintages for drinking now in the northern Rhône. This wine shows a mild herbal tinge and a lithe elegance that seems to epitomize the vintage, at least for me. Surprisingly, this may be a little darker-fruited than the other two bottles of Hermitage today (89 and 99), but there is no mistaking the racy elegance here. Some thought it youthful, and while I would agree with that assessment, I think it is amply adequate for drinking and full enjoyment now.
