Thursday, November 9, 2017 - 2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan): Expressive nose displaying very ripe red fruit, dry cherry, plum, caramel, sap and strong iron. Excellent concentration, finely layered jammy red fruit, very polished and fluid, incredibly silky tannins and a long dry cherry and iron driven finish. A classic Voerzio, i.e. ripe and concentrated with very silky tannins. This is no Giuseppe Rinaldi but I would not call it modern. Like the Mortet, not for the hardcore purists. However, another decade of cellaring may change that.
