96 Points

Monday, January 16, 2017 - A friend brought this over for the NFL playoffs. Dark black fruit with a touch of red - blackberry, currants, blueberry, and a little dark cherry. Really smooth - seamless transition from beginning to end. Nice depth and full/vibrant flavors of dark berries. Fairly long/deep finish. Decanted for a couple hours and drank over another three. Improved with time but at nice drinking point after the decant. I can see another point or two with some more time. No surprise Parker rated it 98 points. Drank next to a couple higher-end cabs from Carter Cellars and I thought the overall quality of fruit from the Quilceda Creek was comparable but I also thought the Carter cabs showed a little more character - in particular more distinct/original flavors.
