Thursday, October 21, 2004 - have had each of the prior 2 vintages of this wine and the 2003 is on par with each of them. It is a hube behemoth of a wine. We drank it over a 44 hour period (we took it to dinner one night and recorked it when we did not finish it). Carmel, cocoa, blackberry and pepper notes. I can't say that this wine is really my style and I think Pinot Envy felt the same. The 16% alcohol was not a problem; but, it lacked the subtlety and nuance that I prefer. Others will undoubtedly rate this higher. 88 points.
