Monday, May 9, 2005 - Decanted for 1 hour. Nose of blueberries, vanilla, anise and mint. Very dark garnet color. On the palate; blueberries, blackberries and some pepper. Moderate, well intergrated tannins. Short to medium finish with a salty, not peppery taste. The 16% alcohol wasn't that noticeable. I'm sure this will get better with more bottle age, but I still prefer the Laughing Magpie. 91pts.
