Friday, July 3, 2015 - After 12 years, still dark garnet-purple, completely opaque. Pronounced aroma of blackberries, black raspberry, with smoky, toasty oak. Quite viscous and mouth-coating. It has lost the sharpness and angularity of its youth, and is now beautifully round, balanced, and supple, though still quite full-bodied. No signs of prunes or raisins yet. Some anise late on the palate and definitely in the long aftertaste. Fully mature, at its peak, may last a couple more years but it's best to drink soon.
