Wednesday, March 30, 2022 - Interesting to drink at 10 years of age. Deep ruby colour, with some browning about the edge. Initially nose dominated by ripe, sweet red plum notes, with a hint of sherry. Later shifted to tobacco and star ainse. Plenty of mouthfeel without being too heavy. Licorice and spice overlays on a full ripe fruit taste, progressing to a dry, almost dusty finish. Was sitting on 88/89 with this wine, but development of flavours in the glass moved it over the line into the excellent range!
