Tuesday, November 17, 2015 - At dinner, and followed an Orrin Swift Machete, which was huge. The 1885 was considerably more subtle, acidic, and more food friendly. I frankly liked it better, though that was not the prevailing sentiment at the table. Dark garnet, expressive nose, complex palate, long finish. Seems to have evolved a bit since the last bottle.
