Friday, June 6, 2014 - Brick red, with fine suspended sediments.
Mature nose of dried fruit, cherries, leather and puffed rice cake. Traces of oak still shows it heads on occasions in the form roasted coffee. Also quite funky with outhouse and matchsticks turning up as soon as the glass is left to stand for a few minutes on it's own.
Good initial fruit. Takes some time for the wine to come around. Starts of a bit hollow on the mid palate. Good length and ok concentration. In my opinion this was probably better a few years ago. Starting to show signs of drying out. A bit of alcohol warmth in the finish as well.

Still very tasty and the bottle finished a lot sooner than we wished for.
