Saturday, September 23, 2006 - What a beautifully made wine -- complex, structured, with wonderful subtle fruit and a lingering finish. It had the most amazing nose -- pure barnyard, hay, and straw -- in the decanter. In the glass, the fruit emerged in the nose, and it smelled of chalk, cassis, coffee, and earth. I could not get enough of this wine at dinner, and kept stealing even more from the decanter. It was a wonderful treat, shared with great friends. It got better and better and better in the glass.
