Monday, April 6, 2020 - A fairly light and "Burgundian" Chianti. The wine is highly perfumed and forthcoming for a relatively young Sangiovese, and I'm not sure that it makes sense to wait any longer, it's so delicious today. Red fruits, licorice, and tobacco on the nose, and on the palate you first get a wave of red fruits, and then at the back end the wine turns quite rustic and savory with leather and smoke. It's a bit of an odd wine for a 8 year old Chianti, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
