93 Points

Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - 691 cases: Opened about 3 hours before pouring a taster and found very much to my liking, so braved the sediment and didn’t decant. Drank all but about a glass over the next 4 hours. In the glass crimson leaning towards brick and def showing the wine’s age. Beautiful coloring especially as you swirl and more of its translucent qualities are visible. Spectacular nose, cedar, cigar box, ripe blackberry, plum, dark cherry, graphite, pencil lead and so much more. Shocked about how available this Delectus bottle was, not the norm. Mouthcoating on the palate with an additional touch of smokey oak to compliment the fruit and tabacco notes. Maybe a touch of sweeter cherry as well on the palate. Def still some grip lift, but actually still some acidity to keep you coming back. Lingering finish, winner in all regards.
