Friday, March 17, 2017 - My first Pagodes experience. I had high hopes for this. I think my bottle was over the hill in some sense. The nose smelled entirely of stinky cigar, with little to no fruit or anything else for that matter. I liked it to start but when it didn't evolve for hours, I started thinking that the wine was sort of dead. 1999 though generally a weaker year, in my experience produced wines with fruit. So I expected some here but it did not deliver. It's totally drinkable but for the price your better off with a Cru Bourgeois or less Classified Growth.
