Friday, December 15, 2006 - Bought a case of this wine because of a great price - we opened our first bottle day before yesterday. Had half that day, half the next day. The evening we opened the bottle, we decanted for about half an hour and the wine was very unremarkable. Not much fruit on the palate, not much nose or finish. Drinkable - just unremarkable. The second day, it opened up a bit. The nose was definitely better - fruit but no spice. The palate, however, is still not the bursting fruit typical of other shiraz from the region - everybody tells us we need to give this wine a few more years. We intend to open up a bottle a year for the next 11 years - lets see how that goes.
