Thursday, June 29, 2017 - A color as black as Egypt's Night, still having a purple tinge at the edge.
On the nose dark fruit, a touch of sweetness and some tannin;
On the palate the wine is muted and monochromatic.
As it opens up there is some dark chocolate and tannins. Went ok with NY Strip but did not add any extra dimension to the meal..
At this stage it does not excite me; I do not see how the absence of vibrancy and complexity will develop into something more exciting later on.
Resumee: Rather disappointing - In fact I never had a St. Henri wine that got me excited...
