Community Tasting Note

Saturday, February 6, 2016 - Cork. Dark red with a crimson hue at the rim. Looks younger than 13 years.

Raspberry, nutmeg, and other ground spices, pan juices, a slight meatiness, and a hint of soy.

On the palate, blackcurrant, graphite, pastilles, milk chocolate, and a bit of a green/stemmy edge. With airing, some cola, hazelnut, and licorice sit in the background. Slightly subdued in flavour but with impressive length. Tannins are dusty and provide adequate support to the wine.

Opinion: There are no significant tertiary flavours yet to emerge, though the wine is drinking well now. Leave for another 4 years.
