Saturday, May 17, 2014 - San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline, 5/17/2014 (Grant Grill, U.S. Grant Hotel, San Diego): Recent library release from the estate. Fill level, capsule, and label condition are like new. Traditional blend of ancient corvina, rondinella and molinara varietals. Gently decanted and served. Heavenly bouquet of rosemary, Christmas relish, cherries and cranberries, tangerine peel, with notions of wintergreen and dressage saddle. Seaquam, who generously shared this bottle, noted some dry chocolate-covered raisins in the bouquet. I found this wine to be bright, fresh, invigorating, nothing pruney or sur-maturite about it. Brilliant purity and structure with endless complexity. Medium body with no hint of its labeled 15% alcohol. A sublime, truly memorable wine. My #1 and group's FIRST PLACE in this flight.

2/1/2017 4:19:00 PM - Thanks for the comments -- I have 3 bottles of this (of an original 4) that I inherited from my father. The one we drank was spectacular as well. Can you say more about the library release of this? e.g. is it available to the public (nothing on their site)? Thanks! steveAT AirPoolerdotcom

2/10/2017 2:54:00 PM - Hey - Sorry about the delayed response - still trying to figure out how this site works. At any rate, thanks for offering to reach out to the person who supplied the bottle. If they are willing to share how they obtained the bottle from the estate, that would be terrific (my wife, who is Italian, and I will be in Veneto in May and are considering visiting the producer then). Thanks again.
