Saturday, July 5, 2014 - Much better than our last tasting, but still not as good as it was on release. Maybe it's starting to come out of it's slumber? Lots of positives….lovely nose, great fruit and depth, good structure and very smooth. Alcohol was not noticeable this time. Went great with our tenderloin, and it still has some tannins to resolve. The first glass had an unusual flavor which I could not identify, but that disappeared with subsequent glasses. I decanted it, but I didn't let it breathe before drinking…at this point it still needs some air time before serving. Will revisit in one year. Drink now with a decant or continue to hold.
