Sunday, August 9, 2015 - Wow. I honestly can not remember a straight Kabinett with a nose this "dry", salty and aromatically restrained. A bit spicy with notes of lime, jalapeno and pear, with perhaps a tiny hint of sponti funk (no idea about the fermentation here though). Very stony, very nice. On the palate superbly focused and tightly wound. Extremely chalky/stony with tangy citrus and apple fruit along with some spice. Not massively acidic, the entry feels almost a bit soft, but there is plenty structure that lead to a bone dry finish. Very little apparent sweetness, comes off more like a feinherb or halbtrocken (while the back label does state 8 % ABV). Very well balanced, airy and lip-smacking, this turned out to be extremely drinkable. Great value too at 12.50 €.
