Tuesday, July 21, 2015 - Medium deep lemon color with pale green highlights. Open, peculiar nose with aromas of ripe yellow apples, honeydew melon, tree bark, yellow table grapes, some nuttiness and a touch of smoke. Full-bodied, concentrated and oily in the mouth with juicy flavors of apples and tropical fruits like mango, some passion fruit and a touch of quince. Medium acidity. In the spicy finish the acidity becomes more prominent; flavors of overripe apple, apricot, pineapple and some honey linger in the aftertaste.
A good, interesting and complex Pošip from the heavier side of the varietal spectrum (I'm not sure whether this wine was actually this Intrada, or the barrel-aged Sur Lie). A nice, rich white to be sipped on its own or paired with heavier seafood or vegetarian dishes.
