Saturday, November 10, 2018 - This bottle is drinking in its prime from my opinion and also Mico tasters opinion. Dark color still in the garnet category. Viscous and Venice. This wine needed a lot of air to open and we didn't have a decanter. Towards the end of the bottle it started to open up with beautiful stewed Grenache fruit. Some depth and backbone and some firm acidity for a chateauneuf-du-pape at this age. there wasn't much wood to this wine but it did stand out towards the end. I would have preferred a little bit more nose but towards the end it started singing. I wish I would have decanted his bottle 4 another 3 hours before writing a TN. Still a fabulous drink with burgers.
