Sunday, November 29, 2020 - A profoundly disappointing wine at a high price point. I had a couple of these I've been holding and chose to open one just to sip with friends. It's a cocktail party wine but for really rich people. High alcohol and showing every percentage point of it. Pleasant enough flavors in the mouth but maybe a six-second finish, devolving into alcoholic blackberry. It's a wine from the bad old days of high alcohol Parker-pleasing Australian syrah, but not that good. A wine with the subtlety and grace of a sledge hammer. If this wine were $20 I'd feel okay about it - at $80 I just feel ripped off. Tasted 3 times over 2 days and I'm not seeing any future.
