Wednesday, December 7, 2022 - Not immediately identifiable as sauvignon blanc - I’d guess chenin as this has a lightly honeyed and waxy presence on the palate and even a bit of sweetness to it. I have heard that these grapes are picked fairly late so perhaps that accounts for the atypical profile. I like this but I feel like it needs a bit more of an acidic backbone to carry the weight of the fruit.
