Community Tasting Note

ElSol Does not like this wine:

Tuesday, May 10, 2016 - I was warned by the wine shop where I purchased this that some people hated this wine, while others bought it by the case. Given that, and the fact this is my first time trying Negrette I guess you can take my review with a grain of salt. I bought this knowing that it was polarizing, but I wanted to try the variety. It smells, and tastes, exactly like horse manure. Underneath that there's some dark fruit (more would have been better) - perhaps similar to a bold Zin. But that barnyard smell/taste just wasn't going away even with decanting. It is unusual and I'm sure one could acquire the taste. I'm glad I tried it but after one full glass the rest went down the sink.
