Friday, February 6, 2015 - mouldy cork, which was soaked through and came out in two pieces. Luckily, no cork dropped into the content. Double decanted, and served after 3 hours, followed over several hours. I guess bottle variation is the key here. This was an ok bottle, but reading other notes, something was clearly amiss with my experience. There is some trace of TCA on the nose here, giving a mouldy attic, wet cardboard aroma, but there is also syrupy blackberry, prunes, orange rind, licorice, and tobacco. Palate texture is quite balanced with good sweetness wihtout being cloying, and a medium+ aftertaste. No real complexities though, whether due to TCA, or something else i am not sure.
