Sunday, January 28, 2024 - Opulent and rich, a hint of red apple amongst the dark fruit, clove and cedar aromas. The palate is full, freshened yet also hardened by acidity (Ridge disclose acidification, which is admirable), and retains some grip. Less fruit on the palate, and some heat. This is decent and quite enjoyable, but it doesn't live up to the hype about Ridge wines with age.
