Monday, May 18, 2020 - A dramatic transformation over the past year. Right at the pop, a profound and magnificent garden of flowers and spices greet the nose. Dusty dark purple color, about 80% opaque with heavy sediment, but very pretty in the glass. Appropriately warm and ripe, the mouthfeel manages to smooth things over for the tasty and undeniably-Zinfandel palate of flavors that follow. I believe the 26% of other varieties help hold down the typical jammy character and add some tannic backbone. If the fruit was shy before, it has now found its multi-faceted promiscuous streak.
What an excellent wine.
