Friday, May 9, 2014 - Medium/deep garnet core, pale garnet rim. Intense sour red cherry nose, some earth and liquorice and a touch of spice. Medium/full bodied on the palate, rich and relatively generous, red fruited with earth and leather, vibrant contrasting acidity, firm but well mannered, fine tannins and a very good length attractively fresh finish. This is excellent, classic Brunello, starting to drinking well but should be fine beyond 2020.
