Saturday, January 30, 2021 - From 375. Fleshier and more fruit-forward than I was expecting from Rhys. Not a fruit bomb by any means, but hews closer to the Copain style than a Burgundian one. Richly textured, front-loaded with more black than red fruits, spicy green mid-palate aromatics (stems?), citrus peel, and a whiff of cedar. Adequate acid, mostly resolved tannins, and food complexity but still is missing a bit of tension and dimension I was looking for.
