Friday, September 22, 2023 - Still good, another year or two on from last note. Nose up there, racy, exciting, damson and enveloping, but the bottle didn’t sing in the highest octave. Wine was perfectly creditable, but as mentioned previously I hope, rolling the dice always, on these fully resolved 35 yr old bottles, there will be slight variation. Durand extraction. No cork dustiness, just some minimal breaking issues. Don’t want to be a Debbie Downer - if this was in your last top 250/500 bottles, you’d certainly be happy. No need to hang on, and have another few years yet. Although an ‘82/90/96 it ain’t.
