Friday, February 5, 2021 - Garnet color. Very perfumed nose. Medium body. Upon first taste the wine was very sharp and tannic having fruit that was far too restrained. But, after about an hour from decanting a roundness began to emerge and the fruit came much more to the fore. Flavors of dark cherry, strawberry, licorice, clove, and cinnamon were prominent. It still had a slight astringency to the finish. Not as elegant and balanced as other bottles. Maybe bottle variation or it has close down a bit from my last tasting of a year ago?? This is a producer that I typically very much enjoy. Not bad, but not up to par.
