Sunday, September 2, 2007 - A surprisingly lush and approachable wine. Notes of smokey oak dominate the nose at first and then give way to cedar and floral notes tinged with pinesap and some ground coffee. Lot of juicy blackberry and plum interplay with licorice and mineral on the rather round and lush palate. This is an easy friendly drink that does pack some structure. That said, the concentration here is not on the level of some other 2003 Bordeaux. Still, a very fine effort for a 2nd wine.
