88 Points

Tuesday, August 25, 2015 - “The faces of California Cabernet Sauvignon”, Flight 2, Wine 1: The wine was dark ruby, almost purple in colour and offered black currant, bell pepper, cedar, chocolate, coffee, spices and some vanilla on the nose. On the palate the wine showed black currant, cherry and bell pepper, with medium to medium-plus acidity, ripe, medium-plus tannin and very good length. The young, medium- to full-bodied, medium-complex wine showed the greenness of the vintage, but was very agreeable nonetheless. Compared with the second wine of the flight, the Mondavi Oakville Cabernet 2011, this seemed pricy. 88+ for now.
